Introducing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

We are excited to reveal the new name for the next generation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV - previously known by the code name Dynamics 365 “Tenerife” - as NAV transforms into a true Cloud Ready Software Solution. The name is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Pure Cloud First

In 2017, Microsoft announced that "Dynamics NAV" and the cloud version, "Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Business edition", would be advanced as a single solution - for both cloud and on-premises.

The cloud-based Dynamics 365 Business Central is the first release of the single solution. It is a business management solution with full NAV capabilities. Later this year, Business Central will be available for on-premises deployment and private hosting.

Price Points & Functionality

Business Central is available at two price points: Essential and Premium.

  • Essential includes: Financial Management, Customer Relational Management, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, Project Management and other functionality like extended text and Outlook integration.

  • Premium includes the following, in addition to what is offered in Essential: Service Order Management, Manufacturing.

Dynamics 365 Business Central will be sold only by Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners. Customers can leverage pre-built applications (available through the AppSource marketplace) and/or work with Microsoft's global network of Dynamics 365 partners to easily and cost effectively extend their solution to fit industry-specific needs.
