TRIMIT “in the Cloud”

Technology improvements of the Internet makes connections faster and more secured. This means that there is no need for companies to have all their software applications on premises. This cloud opportunity is a perfect match to TRIMIT’s software development philosophy.

A Decision of – on premises or off premises

Robert Klumpes, TRIMIT Product Marketing, explains: “TRIMIT & SaaS, is a decision of on premises or off premises of your IT solution and of owning or renting it”. This choice to have the software hosted somewhere else gives the company the opportunity to leave the maintenance of the software at the hosting company and focus on its core business.

Own or rent the software

Apart from this a company can decide not to own the software, but to rent it. This rental model includes also the maintenance of the software and the possibility to upgrade it. This model is called SaaS: Software as a Service. The company does not need to make a huge initial investment in software, but has also the opportunity to fluctuate in the number of users. This can be very useful for companies with seasonal peaks, such as in the fashion industry.

TRIMIT, Dynamics NAV R2 and SaaS

TRIMIT has entered a strategic partnership with SaaSPlaza and with the release of TRIMIT NAV R2, expected in Q4 2010, TRIMIT expects the market to start exploring these new and exciting opportunities.

TRIMIT COO, Steen Wæver Poulsen explains: “The Cloud opportunity is as made for TRIMIT and our software development philosophy. We have since the start of the company devoted all our development knowledge to our “Zero Cost Upgrade” concept  that enables all customers, despite all their customizations to obtain what I would say is the best ROI (Return Of Investment) on the market today. With the possibility of upgrading when Microsoft releases a new version I would also argue, that the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) is as minimal as possible”.  Read about the first TRIMIT customer on SaaS.

Next TRIMIT Release together with NAV 2009 R2

The planning is now done and the next version of TRIMIT will be released at the same time as the R2 version of NAV 2009, as TRIMIT always is.

The next Dynamics NAV release is geared towards the cloud. Some of the new features in Microsoft Dynamics NAV R2 are:

- Integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM

- Online Payment Service for Microsoft Dynamics NAV

- RoleTailored interface access for remote or roaming users

- Microsoft Application Virtualization support

- Windows 7 user experience improvements

- Treemap visualization

“We know that TRIMIT Customers will ask for these new features along with the possibilities of the cloud” says Jesper Bech, Head of Product management at TRIMIT and continues. “In our release plans we proclaim that we will be releasing at the same time as Microsoft, so it was obvious that the R2 made us plan a new TRIMIT Release. But the features in R2 is something that both we and also our partners and customers are waiting for, so we are eager to make sure that they work with TRIMIT. We can see that the R2 is an important step into the “7.0” version that we are already working on together with Microsoft”.

In addition to the R2 features, the next TRIMIT Release will also contain new functionality especially for the Fashion Vertical, like; Consignments, Improved Collection management, Container Management and the SQL performance have been even more optimized. TRIMIT 6.04 will be released and localized by TRIMIT for Denmark, Sweden, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland,  The Netherlands, North America and more countries are expected.

With the R2 release TRIMIT is fully ready for the next Microsoft Dynamics NAV release, called 7.
